Apple Picking at The Apple Farm in Skowhegan Maine

Just a little apple-picking with Daddy (can you tell he came here straight from work?)
Just a little apple-picking with Daddy (can you tell he came here straight from work?)

This is actually our second apple-picking excursion, and the most serious. We took home 2 pecks (which is like 2 almost-full grocery bags for you non-agriculturally inclined folks...like me before I read the side of the bag).\

We also went to Lemieux's on Toddler's preschool field trip, where we got to see them sort apples and where they stored apples to be made into cider later. Lemieux's also featured a corn maze. Their farm store had lots of fresh produce and the farm was beautiful.

The Apple Farm featured a farm store in a barn, complete with toddler play area, equipped with wooden farm-made toys and a really old hooked rug. The store offered gourmet cheeses and other goodies. Outside there were pumpkins, a playground, and really pretty pear trees before you enter the orchards.

For the first time, Baby let go of my finger while we were walking, and she just kept on walking!
