Into the Woods
We had an adventurous day again today. First, we dropped Geoff off at work with some quick kisses, then off to the river to sail our new boats, one of which we made, and the other, the pirate ship from . It was a disaster. It was much colder than it looked, and windy, and as soon as he dropped his boat in the water, we discovered that the mast detaches...I'd tied the string to his wrist because I was terrified he'd lose his new pirate ship, but I tied the string to the mast! Oh, no! I quickly dropped down and laid on my tummy and retrieved the boat before it disappeared too far under the dock. But then we discovered that the back end of the boat also detaches and that it had a former life as a shampoo bottle. Before I knew it, I was taking off my boots and wool socks to go wading nearly knee-deep in 40-degree water and boggy mud underneath well past my ankles. Of course! And I did retrieve the piece. After lunch, we played around in the play room a bit. After naptime, we went to in Hallowell, Maine, followed by a brief trip to , a candy store in downtown Hallowell.
It was quite a day!
