Ordinary and Firsts
Days in our household since at least one person has shampooed themselves with a portion of their meal: 0. Number of firsts today: 3
We had an exciting morning attending the high school early childhood education program's playdate for the first time, just Baby and me. It was wonderful. A first.
We had a little extra time before picking up Toddler, so we dropped by the Somerset Auction house, an honest-to-god farmer's auction held every Monday morning in Fairfield, where they usually sell things like antique rifles, old speakers, animals, fresh eggs, and whatever people find in their barns. Today I saw a Bible published in 1808 sold for $15. I bid for the first time, on a box containing tiny cups and a 3-qt red enamel pot...perfect for mud play in a month or so when the snow is gone. Baby had a great time checking out the rooster.
When we arrived home, we played dinos and ate lunch, which required a bath...But also, a first! Toddler really *read* a book to his sister for the first time. OK, so the book only requires that you can count and name tools, but still. It was awesome!
